Community Awareness at Summerfest

As many of us know, summer is short and many events fall on the same weekend so it is hard to do participate in everything you hope to. This weekend was no exception. Dough 4 Joe had 2 events on their calendar, Haley’s Milk Run in West Fargo, ND and Summerfest in Fergus Falls, MN.  Luckily there are enough members and friends, we were able to have a good representation at both events and many Dough 4 Joe members enjoyed a fun filled weekend.

The Fergus Falls Summerfest was held on the RTC campus, we had our booth near the food areas so of course all weekend we were tempted to enjoy the food vendor’s wares. We visited with many community members, some who still didn’t know about our event and some who said they wouldn’t miss it for anything! It is fun to hear the stories and enjoy visiting with those who believe in our cause. Some visitors commented that they have prior commitments the weekend of the event so they even offered their donations during the Summerfest event. Thank you to those that support Dough 4 Joe and want to help others in the community. As always, keep the Dough 4 Joe family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to work towards the greater good of others.

Joe watches over us yet again!

A number of Dough 4 Joe family members gathered together once again to work on items needed for this year’s event. We had a short meeting and then got our work gloves on and began the laborious process of building picnic tables, outhouses and branding bike kickstand plates for this year’s event. Everyone was looking overhead at the dark clouds but Joe did his part by keeping the wet weather away. We were able to create another 7 picnic tables and got a step closer to completing the outhouses. We also were able to get all the bike kick stand plates branded with the official Dough 4 Joe logo and ready for their final step to be ready for this year’s attendees.  We are realizing this year will be the biggest event to date and there is a lot more preparation to be done than ever in the past. We will be scheduling another, hopefully final, construction date and would like as many Dough 4 Joe friends to join us to assist with preparations to make this year’s event in our new location the best year yet! We will keep you posted on when the next date will be, please consider bringing your work gloves and joining us for a fun filled work day! Remember when you do this kind of work with friends, it’s not really work its building friendships!  As always, keep the Dough 4 Joe family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to work towards the greater good of others.

Dough 4 Joe Family Helps Keep the Streets Clean

12 members of the Dough 4 Joe family gathered together at the old North Town truck stop in Fergus Falls to spend the morning cleaning 4 miles of highway ditches. We all donned our fluorescent orange vests and yellow garbage bags and went on our version of a scavenger hunt. I never realized the strange things you can find on the side of the road, but I will let you imagine what was found; let alone how much trash can accumulate in a 4 mile stretch. It makes me sad to think if members of small community groups or private families did not take on this community volunteer project, we would live in a littered country. Please be thoughtful of those that clean ditches and use the trash. There are proper garbage disposal locations found just about everywhere, they should be used not the ditches. Thank you to the Dough 4 Joe family for doing their part to  “keep the streets clean!”    As always, keep the Dough 4 Joe family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to work towards the greater good of others.

Boys and Their Toys

Bring your tools, bring your gloves bring your friends, the committee asked and Dough 4 Joe friends came through. Dough 4 Joe had a day of building for this year’s event and many Dough 4 Joe friends gathered and began the adventure of making picnic tables and outhouses to be used in our new location for this year’s event. It was fun to see everyone bring their “big tools out” and actually use them. I guess the excuse that you can never have too many tools was actually proven this day! Everyone was put to work, and it was a beautiful sunny day and spirits were high, everyone is excited to see the new location come together and this year’s event become the biggest success to date. We worked hard and created 8 picnic tables and got a good start on building 8 outhouses. Thanks to everyone who attended and we hope to see you again in the near the future.    Please remember to keep the Dough 4 Joe family in your thoughts and prayers as they continue to work towards the greater good of others.
